A little world created from a big love for childhood

Hi, I’m Nadja, the founder of Smallies World.

Smallies World started with something very simple: a love for the magic of childhood and a desire to create a place where children could discover, imagine, listen, learn and simply be children. A world that can allow not only our children to be children but also for us parents to find the child in us again and be children with our children.

The idea for Smallies World is also deeply personal to me. Some of my happiest childhood memories are connected to the little traditions my mother created for me and my brother. Traditions that formed the strong bond between us.

As I became a mother myself, I found myself wanting to create that same sense of magic and wonder for my own children — and I realised how much I still value those little moments of childhood.

That is where the idea of Smallies World began.

I wanted to create a little world filled with products that encourage children to use their imagination, explore new ideas, listen to stories, learn through play and, most importantly, create memories.

What matters to us

At Smallies World, we believe that childhood doesn’t need to be complicated.

We believe in quality over quantity and in choosing products that have a purpose beyond simply keeping little hands busy. We look for things that inspire imagination, encourage creativity, support learning or bring families together.

Our mission

Our mission is to bring a little more magic, imagination and meaningful play into childhood by preserving this precious time for as long as possible.

We want to discover beautiful, thoughtful and educational products from around the world and make them accessible to families in South Africa. We want to support children as they explore their own little worlds — through stories, music, creativity, open-ended play and discovery.

But beyond the products themselves, we hope Smallies World becomes part of the memories you make with your children.

The bedtime story you read together.

The song they listen to over and over again.

The little toy they carry everywhere.

The afternoon spent building, creating or pretending.

The excitement of opening a special parcel.
